I can't even begin to remember when I became afraid of spiders.
I am pretty sure none of us were born that way...it's a "thing" which we acquire on the road, I guess.
But I can tell you that I will not be posting any pictures of the scary creatures on this post.
Although I am brave enough to put a picture of a web up.
As a child, I remember lying in bed, seeing a spider... more than likely it was a tiny thing, but in my memory it was a giant, child eating, blood sucking Monster Of The Night.
I'd scream bloody murder.
And my Dad would come running. Because he was always the Spider Remover.
It was only when I became an adult that I found out that many times, when he had supposedly removed the ugly spider from my room, wrapped in paper... well, he lied a lot of the time, it would seem! :) If he couldn't find it, he'd pretend to have it safely out of my room, just so that I would shut up and go to sleep.
Guess that's the desperation of a tired parent! :)
If it's at all possible, I will still get someone else to remove any Scary Spiders from my vicinity. The fella at work has "rescued" me in the past week. Which caused much amusement.
However, I also know that I can cope these days. As long as I have shoes on, or a lot of paper...or whatever in my hand, I can now protect myself from the threat of eight legged intruders!
D'ya know what's *really* silly about this though? I love Charlotte's Web!
:)x
I hate spiders, but that is from fear mostly! Anything with more than four legs is not welcome in my house lol!!
ReplyDeleteStopping by with Blogging A to Z. I hate spiders too. I just read a way to get rid of them on Pinterest. Good luck with the challenge!

ReplyDelete(Stopping by from the A to Z Challenge)
(Stopping by from A to Z) I can tell how terrified I am of spiders by how long it took me to scroll down once I noticed there was a web there ... wasn't sure I could trust you ;) Loved the father memories!
