Since I last posted anything on the blog, my family and I have suffered a major loss.
My lovely Dad passed away on 27th May.
His final illness was short but how he struggled to live. A Silent Sunday photo I had shared was of my hand holding his, during that time.
He did come home again, albeit only for 9 days, before he was rushed back to the hospital.
I miss him dearly.
I will always love him.
His funeral was yesterday... I was grateful, as were all of my family, to be surrounded by so many caring friends and relatives..I hope he would have approved of his service.
One of his favourite songs was played during the service..
Here are the lyrics..
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
Refrain
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.
Refrain
I’d stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.
Refrain

My Dad's song on youtube
I think it will take me some time to be able to listen to this song again without shedding tears...
